This summer, forest fires raged across Calabria. Emanuele came down from the north as a volunteer. He tried to preserve as much of the land as he could. The fires decimated some of the most wonderful and ancient forest in Italy. It’s home to plants that are said to be over 2000 years old and to communities that have lived in unity with nature for centuries. As the temperature increases, so will the frequency and intensity of record-breaking summer heatwaves linked to climate change. This is happening almost every summer. This is the alarming reality of the climate crisis.
