Moo Baan Prapin runs a convenience store in a gas station in Bangkok. During the 2011 monsoon season flooding began at the end of July triggered by the landfall of Tropical Storm Nock-ten. Floods spread throughout Thailand with 65 of Thailand’s 76 provinces declared flood disaster zones. The water was so sudden she and her husband could not move their stuff in time and their feet were getting irritated because they were walking in polluted water every day. Floods that have overwhelmed two-thirds of Thailand have become, by necessity, everyday life for many Thais. This is the alarming reality of the climate crisis.
